American Cancer Society Relay for LIfe

Greetings Members and Retirees!
The Community Service Committee is planning for Local 245 to once again be a force in our community as we are inviting all Members, Retirees and your families to walk in the 24 hour Dearborn Relay for Life on May 2 and May 3 at the Ford Community and performing arts Canter. We are looking for all able bodies to man the track. This is open to family and Friends as well! Additionally we are asking for one time pledges to raise funds for the American Cancer Society during this walk! If you wish to donate please click the following link and do so. I would also like to bring your attention to what Detroit Tiger owner Mike Illitch has done for the Detroit autoworkers! The center field fountain at Comerica Park was sponsored by GM. When GM decided to not renew their sponsorship, Mr. Illitch had many companies willing to -pay big money to have their name in Center field. However Mr. Illitch showed his Detroit pride and his commitment to the Detroit community by placing the logos of all three companies in center field with a statement that says the Tigers support our auto workers.
